Eva Mendes' palm reading

It's the conclusion of readers' request month with the amazing Eva Mendes. Eva doesn't wave to the crowds though, it's Eva's thing to blow kisses.

Lots and lots of kisses.

I mean, really.... I looked for forever. Nothing but kisses.

But, the tops of hands alone garner plenty of information as well, and it is typical of me to begin a client's palm reading by reading the top of their hand first. Eva is an Air hand. With an agile mind that adeptly absorbs information, Eva is a voracious aesthete, inclined towards a keen appreciation for beauty, especially the fine arts. She is a philosophically-minded person as well, as seen in her knuckles' patterns. Her thoughts naturally travel in circles, and Eva examines an issue from every angle until she feels she's studied it long enough and she's ready to release it into the world.

She is not stubborn by nature, and tends towards using logic over willpower when making decisions in groups. Let's be clear, she is not a diva. She is, if anything, an anti-diva. Eva doesn't believe in egotistical displays in order to gain acquiescence from others. And, she's something of a romantic at heart, an idealist. Her logical nature sometimes hides her sentimentality, because the world can so often fail to live up to our expectations.

Lastly, she's extremely critical of herself, she literally shreds herself to pieces. Look at the damage she's done to her Mercury (pinkie) nail, and in every picture she consistently wears her nails extremely short. There are times in metaphysics when the body materializes the mind's metaphors, we "shoulder a burden" or, "rip ourselves to pieces." Eva's acuity must become rather inwardly-pointed at times, and quite evidently she finds it hard to accept the public's accolades until she deems herself worthy of them by her own interior scale.

There's just one last thing from Eva before we go....

Susan Boyle's palm reading

Reader's request month continues with this unusual, undeniably talented, and perhaps even reluctant celebrity, the singer Susan Boyle, who came to fame after winning the Grinch Simon Cowell's heart with her voice.

Susan is a Water hand, so she's highly empathetic to the emotions of those around her. Like the water element, she is comfortable in the realm of emotions, however, her emotional realm can also easily become overwhelming as well if Water handed people have not learned how to shield themselves from an excess of emotional input. Water hands are prone to turning to depression, self-medication and/or addictions when they cannot shut down the emotional overload in times of hardship, however their great strength is also their emotional connections that they make with people in this world.

Susan's hand also shows that she's drawn to elegance, finery and gentility. These are qualities to be emulated, not because she wishes acceptance from others but because they are considered noble pursuits. Susan is not prone to guilty feelings after indulgences, and does not make room in her life to nurture feelings of remorse. And, she's longer on willpower than logic, and more inclined to see things from her own perspective than to remove herself and see a situation in an analytical light.

It's always a bummer when the closeup of a dominant hand gives only the slightest glimpse of the palm lines. But, there seems to be a gap between the Life and Head lines, which would indicate an impulsiveness to her character. Her Life line is deep, indicating a high level of vitality and overall good health. However, the arch of the line shows Susan is not a risk-taker, and prefers to play it safe rather than over-stimulate, which is certainly the trajectory of her career choices. Lastly, it's very hard to read but her Ego line seems to show she came into her sense of self only after removing herself from her family obligations.

Robert Downey Jr.'s palm reading

Reader's requests month continues with Robert Downey Jr., and it's no surprise to see a Fire hand here, with characteristics that include a highly charismatic nature, and one who is great at motivating others but not so great at motivating themselves. Notice his extremely tapered fingers? Let's put it this way... he's obsessive (even compulsive?) about the fine details of his work. When Robert involves himself intellectually in a project, whether work or play, he struggles with an intense, and possibly highly unrealistic criteria of perfection that is humanly impossible to achieve. Yet, like most artists, that doesn't stop him from holding himself to that standard regardless.

The generous phalanges indicate what the public has witnessed with Robert's past, Robert doesn't question his indulgences but simply enjoys the more sensual pleasures life can offer. It's his nature to not question the impulse to fulfill these gratifications, however, Robert's addictions and public struggles have allowed us to witness what happens when those excesses have lead him to trouble.

For the closeup, I find it best to view it from various angles to seeing varying contrasts on the photo in order to pick out the finer details of his palm's lines. As such, it would seem Robert's hasty Fire-handed nature is balanced by the connected Head and Life lines. Despite his past, he really isn't an impulsive person by nature either.

In fact, the extremely wide arch early on in his Life line shows his thrill-seeking days hit him hard and fast in his youth, but this arch stops, growing no more extreme, very early on in the line. This tells us that Robert's trajectory has evened out, and his need to push his life to extremes in order to feel truly alive have been kept in place, and will continue to be, for the rest of his life.

His Head line seems to end towards the center of the palm, indicating staccato thought patterns that play inside his mind. Robert is not the dreamy type, although he is creative (in fact, his mound of Luna reminds me Johnny Depp's palm). Bam, bam, bam! He thinks it, and then he moves quickly to the next thought. While contemplation is not in his nature, he is however highly analytical.

Ready for another shocker? Robert can and does let people into his heart. Again, this seems to play against his public persona, but in his heart of hearts? Robert enjoys connecting with his fellow man, and yearns for the company (romantic or not) of those whom he finds "compatriots." His Heart line is prominent, showing he feels his emotions deeply.

His Ego line is the most interesting, from what we can see, because for the most part it's so normal. And his life has been anything but. Yet, I wish I could see for sure, but it looks like a diamond-shaped island exists early on in the line. If so, this shows a marked period of time when Robert pulled into himself -- "I am a rock, I am an island" -- and felt extremely isolated (either through his own actions and choices and/or by the situation of his life). Isolation and incarceration can show up as a variety of palm markings, and in various areas of the palm, including the worry lines, the Life line, and the Ego line. Given the periods of enforced isolation that Robert has endured while incarcerated, as well as the emotional isolation that he puts himself into, it's no surprise to see his palm's verification.

Lastly, the length of the Ego line tells us one more thing about Robert... he won't be content with his definition of himself until well past his 60s. Until then, he will continue to strive to find new areas within himself to explore, and new identities to become, both onscreen and in his real life.

Matt Damon's palm reading

Readers' requests have been coming in, and to show my appreciation I've grabbed a few celebrities' palms for the month of May to satiate your curiosity. Let's start with Matt Damon, who seems to be a combination Earth-Fire hand, a curious combination. Fire handed people are hasty by nature, but charismatic and engaging as well. Earth handed people are steadfast and resistant to change, quite literally they are "down to Earth." As a combination, Matt enjoys the charisma of the Fire aspects, but remains grounded through his Earth aspects. As a celebrity, he may be the most "normal" guy we've seen on the blog yet.

If his Fire hand has its hasty reputation, one look at the joined Head and Life lines indicates that Matt is not the flighty type, and rarely (never?) makes decisions impulsively. The arch of his Life line shows a balance between introversion and extroversion, making him, yet again, "normal."

The closeup shows us that his Head line's termination point indicates Matt neither thinks short, staccato thoughts, nor are his thought patterns long and dreamy. His Head line ends right at the "average" termination point, making him neither dreamy nor hasty, just "normal."

His Heart line touches his fingers, that tells us he is open to allowing others into his heart, and he does not emotionally close himself off from others. And, his Ego line begins right from the center of his palm, meaning he neither felt "different" than his parents while growing up, nor was he swayed into being heavily involved in the family, or familial obligations, early in his life. More "normal."

So, is there anything truly remarkable we can see about Matt's hand? With the closeup so blurry, unfortunately little more can be read with certainty, but Matt has some indentations on his mount of Apollo (an area indicating a love of arts, and often specifically the performance arts). Given his profession, this hardly seems shocking, but perhaps more of a verification that Matt would do well in any outlet that allows him to showcase his personal art for others to enjoy.

But, I admit, I wish I could get a better peek at that connecting line between Matt's Head line and Heart line. It looks like it could be a St. Andrew's cross, the palm marking belonging to those who have succeeded in life, but only after facing a great deal of adversity. It looks as if it could be there, but it's too fine of a detail to know for sure.

So, Matt Damon is just a "normal" guy, through and through. Not an act for the cameras or the public, not according to his palm anyhow.
